Why Climate Ready?
We at Climate Collective strongly believe that one of the strongest ways to achieve a sustainable world is through challenging the current business models. It is our mission to support ideas and businesses which are disruptive and have solutions to solve climate change or pave the way towards sustainability.
But where are the women in this mission?
World over ClimateLaunchpad has 40 percent participants as women founders. However, in India the number is only 10-15%. The aim of Climate Ready is to see 50% women entrepreneurs as a part of ClimateLaunchpad or other such accelerator programs. We want to achieve this by capacity building to hone the skills of business literacy, so that women join accelerators in more numbers and achieve business success at a faster pace.
As highlighted in the Mastercard Index of Women Entrepreneurs (MIWE) 2018, India ranked 52 out of 57 countries in the ability of women entrepreneurs to capitalise on the opportunities offered by their local environments. Some reasons for this paucity include:

Climate Collective , Kerala Startup Mission and Sustera are conducting one of the first training programs for women entrepreneurs from Kerala working on climate and cleantech businesses. The program is free for the first 20 selected women from Kerala which is scheduled to happen at end of January 2020.
